It's cold agian!!!

Well it's super cold here again in Nebraska!!! After almost a week of the temps being in the 40's to high 40's its back to barley hitting the 20's....lol but oh well I guess that's how the weather goes in Nebraska!!!

Onto the amazingness of Kemah!!! Which is she was super awesome on Friday when the weather changed but today not so much....the other day was just awesome!!! It totally blew my mind she was just awesome totally ride able and very willing and her gaits were just wow!!! But sadly I decided not to push anything that night cause of the weather being so cold after the day before being nice enough if I wanted to I coulda ridden outside!!!! In January!!! But oh well.....today she was still super willing....but her trot just sucked!!!! Like I mean really sucked....I haven't felt it that flat and not pushing through in the cold in a long time....but her canter rocked my socks off....so that was the highlight of today's ride!!! :) Other than that I don't have much to add....hopefully tomorrows ride goes just as well as today's if not better!!!.....Toodles!!!

Week from Hell!!!!

Sorry I haven't blogged for a while....

This past week my trainer Debbie has been out of town and left me in charge of her barn and we ended up having a sick horse for most of this week....which is finally getting to me!!! I've had two late nights out with the sick horse waiting for the vet....which has made me realize that I don't want to be in the horse business.....lol

Onto my horse and how shes been doing....which is fine....I really haven't done much with her because of the sick horse thats been in the barn. I'm hopefully going to be able to do more with her next week when my trainer gets back. Thats all I really have to say for now!!! Toodles......

Chilly chilly chilly!!!!!

The title of this post lets you all know of the weather thats decided to hit the wonderful state of Nebraska!!! It's very cold at them moment. So for my lesson all I did was do a lil trot work and a lil canter work and within the canter work Kemah and I did some canter half-pass both ways and it was really good and then to end the ride/lesson I did a canter pirouette both ways and that went super well!!!

In total my ride lasted like 15-20 minutes long which was more than enough for myself!!! Though I do have to say my trainer Debbie and I figured out how to rig Kemahs Bakers blanket into a quater sheet to use tonight while I rode.....definitely think that Kemah enjoyed that alot!!!!

Thats all I have to type for now!!!! Hoping that feeling in my toes comes back soon!!! Toodles!!!!

So quick recap of my lesson tonight goes as warmed up and went to some piaffe and it was really really good!!! My trainers dog Maggie watched from by the mounting block and apparently never took her eyes off of me while Kemah and I were working on the piaffe to the right at least....and to the right Kemah decided it would be a heckuva a lotta fun to not act like shes twenty and thought it would be fun to leap around when we started the piaffe to the right.....which gave me a good laugh!!!!

Kemah also went super well in the trot half-pass work!!! We were able to do the Grand Prix trot half-pass zig-zag in a small arena and my trainer Debbie was all like "Grand Prix much??!!!". And then ended the ride with a half decent canter half-pass zig-zag from the PSG. Hopefully tomorrow work on some tempi changes if Kemah is willing to play with those.....or we can work on canter pirouettes.....so thats all for now folks!!!!.........Toodles!!!!

Easy Day!!!

Well since last night I royally cooked Kemah. Tonight I decided to give her a very super easy day!!! Which I'm hoping she enjoyed....

An easy day for Kemah most days is just working on gaits and the upward and downward transitions and such....but tonight I really felt like going super easy.....so I only did like 15 minutes in the snaffle.....and I believe the last time she went in a snaffle was while I was out of town for work and one of the many blond children that I ride with worked her for me.....and thats pretty much it for today/tonight.....so hopefully I'll have more for tomorrow since I have a lesson tomorrow night.....Toodles!!!

First Blog of 09

So instead of making a New Years resolution I decided to make a blog about how awesome my horse Kemah is doing in her training....

Let me introduce you to my horse Kemah she is my 20 year old FEI thoroughbred mare that I'm working on finishing her so that she can do the Grand Prix stuff....and for anyone who reads this that doesn't do dressage. The things that I'm working on is the stuff you'd be seeing in the Olympics!!!

And that my pretty lil pony!!! Granted the picture is from a couple years ago when we first attempted the Prix St. Georges. Which ironaclly is what I'm still planning on showing her at least at the start of this show season!!!

But onto how well Kemah did tonight....which was super!!! Kemah now piaffes and pirouettes like a ROCKSTAR!!!! Granted she has kinda forgotten how to do anything else most of the time but oh well.....I guess thats what I get for really trying to work at putting all the GP (Grand Prix) stuff into her at the moment.....though our half-passes are quite good too!!! Oddly enough our half-passes to the right are better to than the ones to the left but normally its the other way around....I'm guessing with time it'll all even out!!!

I'm very much looking forward to keeping this blog up to date with all the things that Kemah and I do. I think that's all I have for this first posting!!! Hope everyone has a super 2009!!!
